Male Figure and Snake, Man Body Drawing in Dutch Vintage Chrome Metal Frame

Contemporary drawing in vintage frame. This is an original (no print) small size graphite drawing of a male figure on white paper, framed in a vintage metal, Chrome color frame handmade in the Netherlands in 1980s.

Depicted is a male body with a snake (the symbol of the year 2025) around man's neck and chest and with the laurel wreath of victory on man's head. The drawing was created specifically for this vintage metal frame. The color of the frame with floral design also matters as it is the color of the year 2025. The frame has a support leg for placing the artwork on a horizontal surface. The back of the frame is the black leather imitation, the front side of the frame with the drawing has a transparent plexiglass cover.

The drawing of the male figure is not vintage. It was created by me especially for this lovely frame.

This small graphite drawing is also my attempt to show the relativity of straight lines. Even thought there is not a single straight line in a human body, this drawing is created by applying only straight lines.

All beautiful shapes of the human body are curved, fluid, when one shape extends the roundness of another shape. And still, in academic painting and drawing technique we do use straight lines to create rounded forms of the body.

This small drawing is a clear example of the fact that there is nothing straight in the human body and in the male figure in particular. Artistically speaking.
