This oil painting is part of my series "Dual I" in which I search for the true self through portraits.
The portrait shows one person (in this case a young lady) in two different poses. One pose was chosen for a painting on purpose, while the other position was sudden and unplanned for the painting. The officially planned and programmed self and the other self - sudden, spontaneous and the unrevealable self. The search for identity and true emotions.
A figurative painting with the addition of contemporary abstract elements that have some symbolism in them.
In this painting there are: The large grains of golden sand. The drops of red mud that touch the girl's bowed head. The blue turban itself, with unusually red shadows. The islands and continents that can be assumed on the green background stripe on the left. The very direct eye contact.
All this, when seen by the viewer (whether it is deciphered or not, the main thing is that it is perceived), will create an atmosphere and a special setting. When this setting is considered, it reveals the grounds and explanations for the "double I". It is absolutely always contradictory, but it is still "I".
The work on this series continues.
