Very spontaneously I visited the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague for the very first time.
Although I only had one hour, the visit was unforgettable. In this video, I share why I still go to museums in 2025, even though we can see every painting online.
I spent time with some of the Mauritshuis’ most famous masterpieces by:
Johannes Vermeer
Rembrandt
Peter Paul Rubens
Pellegrini
Jan Steen
Frans Hals
The Mauritshuis may not be as big as the Uffizi in Florence or the Hermitage in Moscow, but it is packed with treasures of the Dutch Golden Age.
This visit reminded me why art matters, and why painting is so meaningful to me.
Have you ever been to the Mauritshuis, or do you have a favorite museum where you love spending time with just one or two paintings?
