Danger In Art Studio: Can Oil Painting Be Hazardous For Artists?

Recently my attention was drawn to hazardous materials and mediums we, artists/painters, use in our studios. It's true - there are many of these mediums. Even more so, most pigments are either toxic or carcinogenic. The only way to keep painting is to be safe, use protection (gloves and masks) and ventilate the art studios.

I you see this symbol on a bottle of a medium you are about to use - please be careful.

In oil painting we do have to pay attention to:
* Pigments
* Thinners
* Linseed oil
* Adhesives
* Varnishes
* Turpentine

We also have to be careful when using: acrylic, gouache, casein, watercolor, tempera, pastel... Almost everything! Our skin and lungs are the most vulnerable. Please be careful and create safely!
